Located near the Pune Race Course adjacent to the Pune Sholapur highway, this garden is truly one of the most beautiful gardens in the city. It is spread over approximately 59 acres.

To say it as a fruitful garden won't be wrong in any case as this garden boasts of being home to a number of varieties of fruit bearing trees, most of which are those of the tropical type of vegetation. The chief products of the garden are mangoes, tamarind, etc.

The Empress Garden is also known as Botanical garden and Soldier's Garden. It is one of the best spots in Pune for sight seeing and picnic. People mostly kids enjoy being in this place. This garden is now under the Agri-Horicultural society of Western India. Today, the garden is frequented by locals as well as tourists in large numbers. King peshwa was very much fond of gardens in this city and so he started to build this place with thousands of workers and approximately 8-9 months it took to build such a nice place.
