In our previous post, we have seen about Magarpatta City, the cybercity of Pune. Continuing with the same, today we will come to know about yet another place which is famous for its IT Park. Hinjewadi, just a 25 minute to an hour's drive away from Pune, is one of the few places in Pune which has gained immense popularity in recent times mainly because of its IT Park. The IT Park, named as Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park is located in Hinjewadi and is known to be housing around 20 software companies as listed below :

- Idea Cellular
- KPIT Cummins
- Tata Technologies
- Infosys
- Wipro
- Tata Consultancy Services,
- Geometric Technologies Inc.
- Tech Mahindra
- Cognizant Technology Solutions
- Persistent Systems (under construction),

The list above is not so big as its does not contain all companies which operate from this IT Park. The IT Park also houses product companies such as Compulink and Starent Networks.
Hinjewadi was completely a rural locale, very unknown to the people here in Pune. But when it was a chosen as a place to develop one of India's finest IT Park, everything changed since then. The development of the IT Park began with the construction of two phases. It has been completed amidst rapid urbanization of surrounding areas. Construction for the 3rd Phase is going on and the 4th Phase is also under planning. The 4th Phase will make way for Biotech firms, just like Emcure and Eclerx which are already present in phase 2.
Hinjewadi is located at a prime location. It is nearer to Mumbai via the newly built Expressway than any other suburb. For those who are in need of accommodation facilities in Hinjewadi, it is better to look for the same in Aundh, Baner, Sus Road, Pashan, Kothrud, Chinchwad, Nigdi, Thergaon, Kalewadi Phata, Wakad, Jagtap Dairy. These places are located nearby Hinjewadi and one can easily get access to basic amenities which is not yet easy accessible in Hinjewadi as Hinjewadi is yet to be developed into a good residential area.
So, these was all about Hinjewadi, one of the fastest growing IT hubs of Pune. No doubt, Hinjewadi is the second most upcoming town in Maharashtra state.
